There is an ancient British tradition
of marking the boundary
of a parish by walking round it and beating it with sticks.
Activists have
resurrected this tradition to mark the edge of the
protest exclusion zone around Parliament introduced
at the beginning
of August 2005, in the ‘Serious Organised Crime and Police Act’
- SOCPA.
